Periodic boundary conditions

Hi

I want to calculate transmission/ reflection coefficients from a periodic scatterer. If my incident wavelength becomes smaller than the period, COMSOL gives erroneous results. I guess its due to the periodic boundary conditions not working properly. Can anyone explain the exact reason and any way to fix it.
